How it all started...
In the fall of 1999 a group of 8-10 people, led by Lonny Carpenter, began to meet for Bible Study at a home in Lake Benton, MN. The group felt led to begin a church and began renting the Utoft-Johansen funeral chapel in Lake Benton. The first service was held on the last Sunday in July of 2000.
Shortly after starting services, they began to outgrow the small chapel and prayed for direction. Plans were made to purchase land and build a church. Ten acres of land was purchased and a steel building was ordered. The foundation was poured, and then the building arrived on September 11, 2001. The building was constructed with almost entirely volunteer labor from the membership. The first service was held in the new building on the first Sunday of January 2002.
